About Us

Blue Fox Books opened in February 2021 and is owned and operated by Brittani O'Hearn. Brittani, a Mid-Hudson Valley native, spent years working, reading, and learning at several local bookstores before envisioning her own. She believes in the power of sharing stories and creating community spaces that are welcoming, whimsical, and enjoyable for readers of all ages.

 

Blue Fox has something for everyone in the seemingly endless (but fairly organized) stacks. The shop features mostly used books and select new titles. Popular sections include: Literary Fiction, Children's, Local History, Nature and Science, Mystery, and Mythology. Blue Fox also sells journals, literary candles, teas, stationary, tarot cards, and many more unique giftable items!

The village of Walden is located in the town of Montgomery in Orange County, NY. Orange County is only two hours from NYC and is a beautiful place to spend the weekend hiking, shopping, and visiting local breweries like our Walden neighbors, Angry Orchard.

 

Blue Fox is proud to be a part of the Hudson Valley Booktrail, a grassroots effort to encourage a culture of community and collaboration among independent bookshops in the Hudson Valley region of NY. We highly recommend visiting all of the shops featured on the "trail"!
